KidStage presents daily, year-round performances of original plays written and produced by BCM’s artistic director, City Stage Co. These original productions - geared to multigenerational audiences, help develop literacy and language development, convey important messages, nurture empathy and social skills, and exercise problem solving, all with humor and sophistication. KidStage shows are participatory – with built-in roles for audience members of all ages who are invited to don costumes and get up onstage alongside professional actors, or participate from their seats. Such experiences introduce young audiences to the art of theater and provide early opportunities for creative self-expression.
